SEA GEO SURVEY has developed an autonomous sampling system, summary of the fifteen years specific experience of its Personnel
The key strenght is the versatility of its own vessel “Tirrenian Twin”.

The Unit, light and maneuverable, was designed and certified to sail in narrow environment and in shallow water (> 40cm), barely reachable with traditional vessels

The flexibility of the Tirrenian Twin allows the towing with the truck and then, to perform surveys and sampling there where it will be difficult and costly to operate with other vessels (lakes, artificial fillings, river segments, etc).

The Tirrenian Twin can be fitted with different set up, depending by the scope of work and environmental factors.

Geophysical assesments and batimetry
The Unit is able to perform bathy-morphological surveys (Single and Multibeam, Side Scan Sonar), seismic surveys (Subbottom Profiler, Sparker, Boomer), high and very high resolution surveys (Sonar and Multibeam) of wreck, natural and man-made submerged structures, seafloor geology, dams, etc.

Environmental assesments
The Unit can be fitted with different sampling and coring equipment (grab samplers, vibrocores, CTD, etc.).

In particular, with the scope of environmental assessments an usual fitting provides for:
  • 5 inches vibrocore (with 10cm internal liner of inert material)
  • Digital counter to monitor the penetration vs time
  • Echosounder
  • DGPS positioning interfaced with the navigation software
  • Personnel: 2 geologist/systems technicians
